The bell-ringer – economist from Balti
A student from the Faculty of Economy of Alecu Russo State University from Balti has got an unusual hobby for young people. The future economist of 21 years old is a bell-ringer at the Saint Petru and Pavel Church from the locality, DECA-press transmits.
Maxim Amelcenko started learning how to ring the bells three months ago, when seven new bells have been installed at the church where he is a candle lighter. Since he wants to become a professional bell-ringer, the young man trains himself at the church three hours per week. The first lessons were given to him by Denis Latasev, the bell-ringer from the Metropolitan Cathedral from Chisinau.
„The job of bell-ringer doesn’t make me any problems at the factory. At seven o’clock in the morning I come to the church and ring the bells. After that, I go to classes and come back to the church after classes for the evening divine service. I want to ring the bells after graduation and want to work here. The sound of the bells helps me spiritually, I am full of emotions when I see people enjoying the sound of the bells”, Maxim says.
According to some data, the number of professional bell-ringers is very small in the Republic of Moldova.// DECA-Press
