Tens of persons hospitalized after excessive consumption of food
About 730 phone calls were registered by the Emergency Service of Chisinau in the first two days of the Easter holidays, most of the people being hospitalized with different traumas or because of the excessive food and alcohol consumption.
Contacted by BASA-press, Iurie Ciumaş, the medical deputy director of the municipal station of the Emergency Assistance, has said that on the first day of Easter, four persons suffered from severe intoxications, including two alcoholic ones. “As a result of the food excess, two patients aggravated their state and got to hospital with a heart attack, another 92 – called the doctor for different symptoms of viroses”, Ciumaş said.
Most of the patients that called the Emergency Service on Sunday and Monday, were accusing of stomachache, allergies to eggs, fresh vegetables, citruses and tension oscillations. This year, the number of the phone calls to the Emergency Service has diminshed against the former years.
Contacted by BASA-press Nicolae Gurschi, the head of the Toxicology Section from the Saint Trinity Hospital, has said that, in the last days, four patients were hospitalized, two of whom got intoxicated with medicines. “A large number of the municipal citizens spent their holidays in the countryside, as the hospitals outside Chisinau registered more cases of different intoxications”, according to the quoted source.
Contacted by BASA-press, the doctors from the district hospitals have said that in the last two days, a significant increase of the hospitalizations was registered. Most often, the patients called the doctor because of different intoxications and allergies, and different injuries and plagues, which appeared as a result of solving certain conflicts, which arouse during the excessive alcohol consumption.
