Swine Flu: Anti-viral medicines to be brought to Moldova

A set of 200 thousand dozes of medicines „Tamiflu”, purchased by the Chisinau Government for the treatment of people ill of A(H1N1) flu, will be brought to Republic of Moldova in the middle of this week, DECA-press Agency communicates.

The authorities announced that people ill of pandemic flu will be treated from the account of Obligatory Medical Insurance System, no matter weather they are or not insured from the medical point of view.

At the same time, the first sets of new-type anti-flu vaccine are expected to come at the beginning of December, the authorities specify.

At the order of the decision-making factors from the health care field, the number of hospital medical institutions to provide medical assistance to Chisinau population, where the number of people ill of pandemic flu is the largest in Moldova, was extended. The easy forms of the disease will be treated at home, where patients will be supervised by their family doctor, that will give their patients the necessary anti-viral medicines.

So far, there were 316 confirmed cases of pandemic flu recorded in the Republic of Moldova. Three persons died. Other 82 evidence are under investigation in laboratories. 638 persons are suspected to have pandemic flu.
