Suspect in grenade explosion in Moldovan capital released
No person suspected of committing the 14 October terrorist attack in the centre of Chisinau is now arrested by police, the head of the commission in charge of investigating this case, prosecutor Igor Popa, told ProTV on Tuesday. He said that the key suspect was released because he had a strong alibi.
Yet, Igor Popa could not say when that person was excluded from the circle of suspects. At the same time, on 19 October the head of the public order directorate under the general police commissariat in Chisinau, Iurie Crijanovschi, said that only one person was under preliminary arrest and several others were suspected.
A grenade exploded in Chisinau's central square on 14 October, leaving over 40 people injured.
