Some 60kg of hashish discovered at the Romanian-Moldovan border
57 kg of hashish were discovered at Leuseni checkpoint. Three Moldovan citizens were carrying the drugs in the bunker of a van bought in Germany. The men say they do not know anything about the drugs and reject any accusations, Pro TV Chisinau informs. They are from Ialoveni district and are aged 25 to 29.
The police officers at the customs say this is a record catch. The whole quantity of drugs cost over $478,000 in Moldova. The narcotics were produces in Morocco and were supposed to arrive on the black market of Russia. Moldova is used only as a transit country.
If the young men will be reported guilty, they risk staying up to 15 years in prison being also banned from performing certain jobs up to five years.
