Sightseeing in Moldova: The local brand - "Negru de Purcari"

Chișinău / Moldova.ORG/ -- Moldova is the land where the vine has been cultivated since ancient times, and the passage of time did nothing but root the tradition of wine preparation and consumption in this area.

The fruit of these millennial traditions in winemaking on this land is the Purcari wine.
The history of this wine began in 1827, when a winery farm was established in Purcari by decree-law. In 1947 began the pursuit for trophies, participating in the Agricultural Exhibition in Bessarabia, when the Purcari wine won its first gold medal.
In 1878, at the International Exhibition in Paris, experts are pleasantly surprised by the quality of a wine coming from an unknown village on the Dniester river, Purcari.

This was the time when Purcari got its first gold medal at a world exhibition.
In 2003, the "Purcari Winery" company was founded to preserve and carry forward the fame of the Purcari wines.
There were 27 medals at international competitions and exhibitions in its collection of trophies, in 2006 .
The Purcari vineyards grow on sandy and clayey chernozem soils, which has in its chemical composition a rare element - rubidium, that makes the red wine varieties obtain a specific purple, deep red, almost black color.
The wines are stored and matured in the old cellars, built since 1827.
The winery is small, according to the Moldovan standards, but it is special due to the micro climate, where the grapes grow, which makes the wine of unique flavor and high quality.
The winery tours include visiting the industrial processing of grapes and bottling wine, and the cellars where it matures.

The trip also includes wine tasting in one of the two tasting rooms and a souvenir gift of 3 bottles of wine, a winery presentation CD and a winery promotional booklet.
The winery also offers accommodation for the interested tourists.
In order to learn more about Moldova's soul, you should delight with the extraordinary drinks made on this territory and enjoy the exceptional flavor of the impressive Negru de Purcari wines.
