"In the course of the excavation the scientists discovered the remains of habitations, ware, and vessels. The finds include also figurines of people and animals, as well as stone implements", Bodean said.

He added that the majority of the discovered objects are well preserved that is a rare case among the sites of this type.

"A 20-cm anthropomorphous painted figurine of a woman was revealed near the habitation", Bodean said.

He said that ceramic articles, covered with black paint were discovered in the house, which refers to the Cucuteni-Tripolye culture. Archeologists discovered also shards of ceramic vessels, made on a potter's wheel; small disc from a spinning wheel, fragments of bronze fibulas, fragments of Roman amphorae and a bead.

"Though the excavations of the ancient site on the bank of the lake were carried on a small plot, archeologists discovered already a number of unique objects, which will strike both scientists and the wide public", the scientist considers.
