By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau / Moldova.ORG/ -- At a distance of 28 km from Arad there have been made archaeological discoveries quite important both for Romania and South-Eastern Europe. Land fortress from Santana has the age of Troy Fortress, of which the consideration it is deemed to be Romanian Troy.

Effectuated researching has established the existence of a necropolis that belongs to the first part of the copper age (Tiszapolgar culture, about 4000 BC), a complex fortified settlement dated since the late bronze age (about 1200 BC) and a fortress, built at the beginning of the first epoch of iron, being one of the largest fortified complex in this part of Europe.

One of the most important artifacts discovered on this territory was a human skeleton which is 5,500 years old.
In the archaeological site of Santana, there was discovered one of the largest settlements of the middle Neolithic era, in this area. The remnants of prehistoric civilizations that lived on this area have attracted from the first investigation the interest of specialists. The settlements discovered by Banat archaeologists date since 5,300 to 5000 BC.

Since the same prehistoric time on dates the only wood spear discovered on the territory of Romania. It is a piece of heritage, discovered accidentally in a locality near the city of Alba Iulia, which contains a fragment of the old wood of about 3000 years. "To have a piece of wood from the handle of a bronze lances, of more than 3,000 years old, for Romania it is absolutely sensational," said Horia Ciugudean, a specialist in prehistory.

Lately discoveries made on the Romanian territory will change the textbooks of history and our conception of the history of this plot of land.

The land on which we pass and run is full of archeological vestiges and 3,000-5,000 years ago the same thing was done and our ancestors.
