Romanian courses for Russian-speaking kindergartens of Moldova

Romanian language will be taught in the kindergartens where the education is done in Russian. The initiative comes from a group of parents and teachers who asked the Ministry of Education to provide Romanian language courses within the Russian-speaking kindergartens from Moldova. The parents want to better integrate their children by learning Romanian.

The proposal was debated during a meeting with parents, heads of kindergartens and with the Minister of Education, Mihail Shleahtitsky.

Mr. Shleahtitsky emphasized the importance of possessing Romanian language knowledge by the children.
“In order to efficiently learn Romanian, the children should be guided by a teacher, who would provide the best quality education,” added Mr. Shleahtitsky.

As a result of the discussion, there has been decided to create a specialized group which will issue a methodology of Romanian language teaching within the Russian-speaking kindergartens, as well as a mechanism of implementation.
