Reconstruction works on National Stadium will start without delay
The reconstruction works on the National Stadium must begin immediately, President Vladimir said at a meeting on the topic on May 13.
According to the presidential press service, the chief of the state said the stadium should be renovated according to the international standards in the field so that the football matches are of the highest grade and the teams have all the conditions to train, in conditions of maximum security.
The president also proposed assessing the possibilities of developing the auxiliary infrastructure of the sports ground, including creating a modern car park of 30,000 places within the sport complex.
The Government will manage the reconstruction activities and monitor the works.
This February, the foreign capital company ”MGL Business” was chosen as investor to rebuild the stadium.
The National Stadium in Chisinau was put up in 1952 and rebuilt in 1974. In 2007, the Government decided to demolish it and build a new one in its place // Reporter.MD
