Protest with masks at the Russian Embassy (VIDEO)
“Freedom to Pussy Riot!”, human rights defenders chanted in front of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau. Members of Amnesty Moldova, supported by members of Hyde Park Association organized a protest in front of the Russian Embassy, demanding the release of girls of the band “Pussy Riot”.
Activists had colored masks on their faces in order to show that “the diversity should be tolerated, and political beliefs cannot constitute grounds for the isolation of people, even if in the church”, says the press release of Amnesty.
To note that tomorrow, August 17th, Hamovniki Court in Moscow is expected to announce its decision, and on this occasion, protests in support of girls are planned in 35 countries throughout the world.
To mention that three activists of the band Pussy Riot are arrested for more than half a year, because they protested in from of the altar of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. By this they showed their discontent with the close cooperation between the state and the church. They could be sentenced to 7 years in prison.
