Primaria reports end of works at Valea Morilor lake
The Chisinau Primaria [city government] has reported the completion of the Valea Morilor lake restoration works that were started in summer 2010.
Within the acceptance of the lake restoration and beautification works, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said that one performed high-quality works.
"The silt removal, lake repairing and beautification were performed in conformity with the schedule approved by the municipality. The Dacvi-com company performed works provided by the 2nd and 3rd project phases - on settling ponds and channels, on assembling a water conduit bypassing the Nagornaia river and the bottom sewer evacuator", Chirtoaca said.
According to him, the works on bottom sewer evacuator assemblage and bank strengthening had to be completed in summer, but the company managed to end them before the appointed time, so capital residents will have the possibility to bath in the sun at the lake beach. But, this year, the lake will not be filled up with water, as far as one has to wait for 9 months to fill it up.
"After the work end, the Primaria will announce an international competition to select investor that will equip the park with modern amenities, will build an entertaining center with sports ground, restaurant and hotel at water, as the project provides", Chirtoaca said.
Despite the required investment amount of €200 million, Chirtoaca said he is sure that one can find investors that will implement the project.
