Police reveals three cases of contraband with food products

The representatives of the Internal Ministry (MAI) have recently revealed three cases of contraband with food products and goods.

In the neighbourhood of the village Hârbovăţ, Anenii-Noi district, the traffic police stopped a VAZ-2121 vehicle for a control, during which they found 500 kg of frozen chicken thighs with no documents of origin, according to the MAI press service.

The 27-year-old driver has said that he purchased the goods in Tiraspol for their ultimate distribution onto the markets.

Also, during a specialty raid, the police revealed, on the right bank of the Dniestre river, near the village Vîşcăuţi, Orhei district, three persons, between 39 and 50 years old, loading up a VAZ 2104 vehicle with boxes.

They found 40 boxes in this vehicle, 15 kg each, with chicken thighs and with no documents of origin, as well. These were purchased in Dubăsari and to be distributed ultimately onto the market in Orhei.

In another case, a woman was transporting food products and goods with no documents of origin, in the amount of 150,000 lei.

The orderly forces are examining the cases to settle all the circumstances and factors of decision involved to disfavour the illegal transportation of the goods over the border.
