PETA alleges abuse at UC research lab
A former laboratory worker says animals were abused in the research labs at the University of Colorado Health Services Center.
Karl Mann, who spent five years as an animal technician at the facility, said he has pictures of animals being mistreated.
"They're crammed into really bad conditions that are not clean and they're not given proper vet care," Mann told CBS4 in Boulder, Colo.
The Rocky Mountain News said the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has filed complaints with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and National Institutes of Health.
The research center denies the allegations. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
