Over three million of people crossed the border of Moldova in the last two months
More than three million of border crossings, either entering or exiting the country, were registered in the first two months of the summer.
According to the press service of the Border Police, traffic values at the crossing points of the state border increased significantly. According to the source, the main reason is the desire of Moldovans to spend holidays at the Black Sea side, but also returning of citizens living abroad to spend time with their families.
Therefore, 1 599 833 people entering the country were registered during June and July, which constitutes an increase of 6,5% over the same period last year.
As regards border crossings while exiting the country, the registered number is 1 593 853, which represents an increase of 5,5% over the same period last year. Comparing to the months of June and July of 2011, in increase with 6% of the number of people crossing the border is registered.
During the summer, the most “active” area of the border remains that with Ukraine and the most popular crossing points are Tudora, Palanca, Otaci and Volcinet.
