A series of six public lectures by international experts on foreign and security policy challenges, organized by the OSCE Mission to Moldova, will start on Friday in Chisinau.

According to a press statement from the OSCE Mission, between September 26 and November 28, professors from Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Ukraine and the United States will hold lectures in Chisinau and Tiraspol on foreign and security policy issues relevant for Moldova and the Transnistrian settlement process.

“These lectures represent a unique opportunity for Moldovan students and the interested public at large to become acquainted with theories and experiences of conflict prevention and conflict management, regional relations, security policies and the role of the media in conflict settlement,” said Ambassador Philip Remler, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.

William Hill, former Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova and currently a professor at the National War College in Washington, DC, will kick off the public lecture program with a presentation on “US Views on Russia and the ‘Frozen Conflicts’ after August 2008” at 18.00 on September 26, at the Free International University.
