No swine flu cases registered in Moldova yet

No swine flu cases have been registered in Moldova yet, according to the Health Minsitry (MS).

The cases of the flu caused by the swine root of the flu virus were signalled in the last days in Mexico and the USA, according to a press release. At the moment, the MS is collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) to insure the global measures of reply to the swine flu. The WHO does not recommend establishing any travel or trade restrictions, but it increased the level of alert to the fourth degree on the six-degree scale (level six is considered an epidemics).

Though the risks for Moldova are minimal, to reduce any factors of the swine flu spread or appearance, the authorities will soar vigilence about identifying the infected people or those suspected at all the stages, according to the MS. They will also take measures in giving the necessary medical assistance and informing the population.

In case of some infection, Moldova has reserves of antiviral medicines of the latest generation and the authorities reccomend the population to strictly follow the rules of personal hygiene, namely to wash the hands, avoid tarveling in the affected areas and to address the doctor if similar symptoms appear, according to the MS.

The symptoms of the swine flu are similar to the human's: coughing, headache and muscle aches. In the severe cases, it leads to pneumonia and even death. The incubation period amongst people is two-five days.

So far, the swine flu has killed 149 people in Mexico, 40 in America and six in Canada. The people affected by the mutant virus were registered in New Zeeland, Israel, Spain, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, China, Peru, and in the morning of April 28, the press agencies of Russia announced that the first man with swine flu symptoms was found on an airport in Moscow.
