NIT and Euro TV Chisinau obtained most of available channels

The television channels NIT and Euro TV Chisinau got the largest number of broadcast licenses put up for tender at a contest announced by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC). The results of the contest were announced on May 8.

The BCC member Cornel Mihalache told REPOTER.MD that NIT will continue to broadcast in Chisinau, Cahul, Edinet, Comrat, Varnita, Causeni, Ungheni, Nisporeni, Soroca, Trifesti, and Cimislia. It also got a new channel to broadcast in Criuleni.

Euro TV will transmit in Briceni, Comrat, Cantemir, Drochia, Falesti, Glodeni, Sangerei, Stefan Voda, and Taraclia.

At the same time, Pro TV and TV Dixi got no licenses. Though Pro TV applied for seven of the channels put up for contest, it won none of them. The channels for which Dixi TV applied were offered to a new TV station, Vedete, which obtained licenses for six channels. The new TV channel will broadcast in Cimislia, Balti, Vulcanesti, Calarasi, Rascani, and Japca.
