NGO-s condemning violent actions and of vandalism during 7 April

More NGO-s related to the defence of human rights are condemning the violent and of vandalism that took place during the protests in Chisinau, near the buildings of presidency and parliament, on April 7.

Sergiu Ostaf, the executive director of the Human Rights Resource Centre, has said that over 300 NGO-s on law expressed their dissatisfaction and condemned the violent actions and of vandalism during the protests.

“The civil society encourages the meetings and public manifestations organized in a peaceful manner, being necessary to promote and consolidate democracy, and the legislative framework of Moldova allows the democratic exertion of the people's will. The Constitution says that the freedom to meetings should be peacefully expressed, and the real democracy aims at changing the society, and not by force or violence”, Ostaf said.

The law NGO members say that violence leads to the state of fear, and breaking other people's rights discredits the social free development.

“We call the society to prove civic maturity, to avoid actions that are likely to degenerate in violent forms and of vandalism”, Vera Ţurcanu, the head of the National Youth Council of Moldova, has said.

Also, the NGO members are requiring the political leaders and the state authorities to use in speeches terms and expressions that will contribute to consolidating the society , not to its division and inciting.
