The Lawyers for Human Rights public organization published the list of persons and organizations, which were guilty of decisions, taken by the European Court of Human Rights (ЕСHR) for the period from December 2006 to December 2007.

All in all, by the beginning of 2008 the ЕСHR recognized Moldova as guilty on 105 cases, including 60 in 2007. However, the list of persons and organizations is considerably longer, as several culprits, including Prosecutors, judges, ministries are involved in each case.

“The objective of this publication is to facilitate the increased responsibility of public authorities and transparence in taking decisions. It does not necessarily mean that those guilty must be held materially or criminally responsible. In Moldova it is the Prosecutor’s Office to determine the guilt extent”, the press statement says.

The list was made on the basis of the data, received from lawyers, who defended the plaintiff’s interests in the European Court of Human Rights (ЕСHR) and on the basis of the ЕСHR’s resolutions.

“For this reason, this list can contain inaccuracies. This list is not complete, as those, who made it up, did not have the complete data”, the lawyers warn.  // Infotag
