New earthquakes in Japan

Elena Vnorovscaia/ Chişinău / Moldova.ORG/ -- This Thursday a strong earthquake has occurred with magnitude 6.7 Richter scale in Near East Coast of Honshu, Japan at 5.50am on 23 June 2011.

The earthquake epicenter is located at 39.9 North latitude and 142.5 East longitude. 4475km Northeast of Kudat, Sabah. There were two tremors with an interval less than a minute.

The earthquake caused a tsunami. It reached the northern coast of the country, but the wave height does not exceed 50 inches.

There is no information about victims or injuries.

But Japanese authorities ordered the evacuation of several coastal villages.
