More than 30 children infected with TB at a Moldovan kindergarten
Severe tuberculosis site has been identified in Moldova. 39 children of a kindergarten from Donduseni town have been infected with tuberculosis. The kids have been in contact with their teacher who was carrying TB, Publika TV reports.
“It is an uncommon case. The case should be thoroughly investigated. The positive results cannot show that the children got the infection from their teacher,” the former Health vice-minister Viorel Soltan said.
The kids will receive medication to treat the TB. All the children from kindergarten, as well as their parents will be seen by a doctor.
Over 260 children attend that kindergarten from Donduseni. According to the preliminary data, 190 cases of TB have been registered among 0-17 aged in 2009. In 2010 there have been 82 cases of TB among every 100,000 people.
