Moldovans protest against the current administration
Thousands of people have gathered in the National Square from Chisinau to rally against the current administration of Moldova. The people have come from different districts of the country at the initiative of Iurie Rosca, the leader of Popular Christian Democrat Party (PPCD). He has previously called upon the citizens to protest against the Constitutional referendum which will be organized at the end of April.
The people chant “Down with the Alliance (for European Integration)!” “Alliance – leave!” Many protesters say they are unpleased by the current leadership’s activity. They believe that the corruption level has increased, as well as the poverty level.
Iurie Rosca announced that he plans on gathering more people and protesting until the end of April when a Constitutional referendum will be organized.
Vladimir Voronin, the leader of Communist Party stated that he is willing to support the demonstrations. At the same time, AIE leaders said that it is a human right to protest as long as the demonstrations are peaceful.
