Moldovans are world's 47th happiest nation
The Republic of Moldova is standing on the 47th position in the Gallup Happiness Rating prepared by the renowned Institute by interviewing citizens in 124 countries.
According to the Gallup research, 28% Moldovans stated they were glad with their life quality, and unhappy citizens constituted 16%.
Moldova's next-door neighbors, Ukraine and Romania, are on the 71st and 73rd positions, respectively. Both countries have only 16% citizens who said they were happy about their lives.
Upon the research's average, only 21% people stated they were contented with the lives they lived, and voiced confidence their condition will improve over next 5 years.
According to the Gallup research, the highest proportion of happy people live in Denmark (72%), Sweden and Canada (69% each). The United States is on the 11th place (with 59% happy citizens), and Russia is on the 57th position (24%).
The lowest position on the list is occupied by Chad, where only 1% people said they were happy.
