Moldovan trade unions ask for decent jobs on Labor Day
The trade unions of Chisinau and other locations of Moldova have gathered today in Central Square of the capital to mark Labor Day. Most of them came with banners with the message: “The minimum wage = the minimum of living,” “For a decent work we want a decent salary.”
Moldovan Premier Vlad Filat assured the citizens that the people in the country “live well” urging the participants to be united and not to let anyone to break them apart.
“In the Republic of Moldova the people live well and the crisis was overcome. That’s why it is important to be united, so the economy would be a durable and healthy one,” Vlad Filat said.
The people present at the event asked for fair payments and urged the Government to avert the illegal labor or the salary paid in envelopes.
Moldovans around the country celebrate Labor Day today. All the workers of the public sector have the day off.
