The Parliament of Moldova voted for appointing 6 new members for the Supervisory Board of the Teleradio-Moldova public company. The candidates were selected through a contest organized and held by the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (ACC), an official media watchdog structure.

Chairwoman of the parliamentary Standing Committee for Culture, Sciences, Education, Youth Affairs and the Mass Media, Corina Fusu (LP), stated that the 6 persons passed through all stages of the law-stipulated selective procedure.

One of the six, Aurelia Petru-Balan, said, "We have very serious remarks concerning the work of the public television and radio, and we shall help the company overcome the crisis. You will feel improvements within no longer 2 months".

The opposition Communist faction strongly objected to such practice. MP Grigore Petrenco stated that the mandates of two Board members are expiring only on December 28, so contest to fill vacancies must be announced only when vacancies really appear.

"Now we see that the Code of Television and Radio Broadcasting was amended for the only sake of subduing the ACC to somebody's interests. Premier Vlad Filat may accept our congratulations: he has added an extra asset, the TRM, to his personal wealth", said Grigore Petrenco.

MNA parliamentarian, Minister of Education Leonid Bujor, on the contrary, believes that the changes taking place at the public television and radio are but a "de-voroninization and de-communistization" of the public company.
