Moldovan kindergartens, schools closed due to severe cold weather
All schools from the northern Edinet district were closed on 25 January and the education process in a string of schools and kindergartens from 17 districts was suspended because of low air temperatures.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Deputy Education Minister Tatiana Poting said that all in all 55 education institutions did not have classes and the first four forms in another 49 schools suspended their work.
Poting said that the education process was suspended because in some schools and kindergartens, the temperature stood below 14 degrees Celsius, whereas in other the aqueducts were frozen.
The air temperature is expected to vary between -15 and -25, and even -28 degrees in some places, on 25-27 January.
