Moldovan, Georgian breakaway regions sign cooperation accord
The central electoral commissions of Moldova's breakaway Dniester region and South Ossetia have signed a cooperation agreement.
The chairmen of the commissions, Petr Denisenko and Bella Pliyeva, told journalists after the ceremony of signing that it was "an outstanding event".
"We hope that this agreement will do good not only to the personnel of the two commissions, but will step up cooperation and mutual assistance between our states," Pliyeva said.
On 31 May South Ossetia held a parliamentary election which was not recognized by the European Union.
