Moldovan citizen sentenced to 5 years in USA

A Moldovan national has been sentenced to five years in prison by the US Department of Corrections. Andrian Arapu, 26-year-old, received 510 days' credit for the time he has already served in Pitkin County Jail following his arrest on April 6, 2011, by Aspen police, his host town in Colorado. According to Aspen Times, the man was living illegally in the town and his previous arrest came under allegations of bearing a gun and cocaine. After he completes his term in prison, Arapu will be deported to Moldova.

The newspaper informs that a three-day jury trial had been scheduled for Andrian Arapu in September. The Moldovan speaks three languages and comes from a prominent family.
