Moldovan authorities to fine sellers of spring flowers
The authorities of the Republic of Moldova announced they would fine people trying to sell early spring flowers included in the Red Book, DECA-press informs.
„The destruction of rare forest plants, included in the Red Book, is prohibited by the new changes in the Sylvic Code, entered into force in February 2010, added to the legal acts adopted before”, Ghenadie Grubai, head of the forest fund service of „Moldsilva” Agency, stated.
The State Ecological Inspectorate also announced that, as soon as spring came, they would start going through markets, streets of the town and edges of the roads near forests where such flowers are usually sold. Flower sellers risk paying fines of more than two thousand MDL, according to the Contravention Code.
