Moldova starts World Championship with a failure in front of England (0-5)
The head of the Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu does not blame the Moldovan football team for stepping “with the left foot” in the preliminary of the World Championship in 2014. After they failed to score any goals during the match with England losing 5-0 in front of the British team, Marian Lupu said he is hoping for a higher quality game in the future.
“I told the players [of the national team] there is nothing to lose in such situations and they should relax and demonstrate a nice game,” the Parliament speaker said.
The match that was played on the 7th of September on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau - Moldova’s capital - seemed to be disappointing for the Moldovan team. The Britons scored their first goal at the beginning of the game in an eleven-meter penalty registered by Lampard.
Moldova will be playing the next game with Poland on September 11 at the Municipal Stadium of Wroclaw.
