Moldova reports second lethal case of swine flu
The second lethal case of swine flu has been registered in Moldova.
The victim is a 35-year-old man who has recently returned from Russia. According to Deputy Health Minister Oleg Lozan, the man came to Moldova on Thursday evening [29 October]. The next day he was taken to a hospital in Drochia [northern Moldova] with pneumonia and died because of complications caused by the virus.
So far, over 150 suspected swine flu cases have been investigated in Moldova. The H1N1 virus was confirmed in 29 cases. The swine flu has taken 5,000 lives all over the world.
