Moldova might enter the Guinness World Records
The Republic of Moldova has the chance to enter the Guinness World Records Book because it doesn’t have an elected president for more than two years.
The request was made by the senior editor of “Komsomoliskaya Pravda v Moldove” newspaper. According to the regulations, a record cannot be registered unless it is finished.
“We are supposed to wait for the moment when the president will be elected in order to exactly specify the number of days Moldova hasn’t had a president,” said the senior editor of the publication.
Moldova hasn’t had a president as of September 11, 2009, when the ex-president Vladimir Voronin resigned. Ever since, the acting position was held by Mihai Ghimpu and now by Marian Lupu, the head of the Parliament.
