Moderate quake hits northwest Iran
An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was reported Wednesday in northwest Iran.
Officials said no casualties or serious damage were reported, the Iranian News Agency said.
The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University said the epicenter of the quake was in Namin city.
It was felt in several provincial cities including Ardebil, Nayyer, Namin, Parsabad, Bileh-Savar, Khalkhal and Meshkin-Shahr, IRNA said. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
