Minister Bujor asks to not politicize education process

Minister of Education of Moldova, Leonid Bujor requires not politicize the process of education.

He informed that given the fact that many of the state universities chancellors in Moldova to join certain political groups, the Ministry will follow closely that it had no effect on the educational process.

Bujor admitted that he was surprised by chancellors' action, although "every citizen has the right to decide for himself, to engage in politics or not, as well as to join this or that party, or remain unaffiliated."

He recalled that under the law, educational institutions must be depoliticized.

"We will watch closely to educational institutions not to involve in politics, and not only the highest", - said the minister.

According to him, if the Ministry will receive any signals of violations by the heads of educational institutions because of their political affiliation, the latter will be punished or even released from the duties.

Infotag's dossier: On Thursday, many of the state universities chancellors in Moldova announced at a press conference that will join the Liberal-Democratic Party of Prime Minister Vladimir Filat. Among them - President of State University of Moldova - Gheorghe Ciocan, Technical University - Ion Bostan, Academy of Economic Studies - Gregory Belostecinic, Agrarian University - George Cimpoies.
