MIA and DM commemorated the 19th anniversary from the day when the soviet troops left Afghanistan
19 years have passed since the soviet troops left the territory of Afghanistan. On this occasion the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Ministry of Defense (DM) organized meetings with those who had taken part in that war, DECA-press Agency informs.
The deputy prime minister of the internal affairs, Andrei Pogurschi, a police officer, said that the patriotism and commitment of those solders is a good example worth following by the younger generation.
MIA awarded distinctions and honors to some ex-participants in the battles from Afghanistan.
According to some data, 87 MIA employees fought in different years in Afghanistan.
The war in Afghanistan took place in 1979-1989. 305 Moldovan solders died in that war and about 700 were injured. // DECA-Press
