A Michigan lawyer says that the two teenagers who allegedly shot him with a BB gun were lucky he’d left his handgun at home.

Michael Breczinski said he might have fired at them when one of the teens displayed what appeared to be a handgun if his .45 Ruger had been available.

"I think God was looking out for them and me," he told the Flint Journal.

Breczinski was returning to his car at the Courtauld Center mall when he felt something hit him. He saw the two teens and chased them when they fled after he asked them about firing at him with a BB gun.

During the chase, one of the teenagers opened his shirt and showed a gun, Breczinski said. He dialed 911 and police arrested the pair.

Police found two BB guns in a wooded area. The two teens were allegedly in possession of CO2 cartridges used in the guns and candy believed to be stolen, police said.
