International Youth Day: what Vlad Filat wishes to young Moldovans

Prime Minister Vlad Filat message to the youth of Republic of Moldova on the International Youth Day:

“Dear young people,

August 12th was declared the International Youth Day by the UN General Assembly and is run this year under the topic “Building a better world in partnership with youth”.

The young generation has a great potential and plays an important role in developing the countries throughout the world. Unfortunately, the economic crisis affected primarily youth. That’s why this year’s message of the UN Secretary General, addressed to all governments of the world, insists on entrepreneurship among young people, jobs, qualitative education, active citizenship, etc.

Therefore, the government of Moldova makes effort to create appropriate conditions to motivate young people to start business, and commercial agents to create new jobs for young people. The last year, the number of scholarships for students in IT has been increased, and commercial agents working in IT field have benefited from the extension of incentives. As a result, thousands of young people benefit from the government’s support to get qualitative education and better paid jobs.

Working with youth is one of my priorities. I supported and will continue to support youth participation in decision making and policy implementation processes. I believe in the capacities and potential of Moldovan youth to change our country to the better.

Dear young people,

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and myself, I congratulate you on the International Youth Day. I wish you good health, high performances, development of your potential and to form a new generation of powerful leaders to be the basis of Moldova’s development.”
