Homeless people hosted by the Dermatovenerological Department of the Balti Hospital

On the first two days of the current year, nearly 20 homeless people were provided shelter in the building of the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Municipal Hospital of Balti (MH). Doctors says that, in a way, this is a life buoy for these homeless people, DECA-press informs.
The senior medical nurse of the Department of Dermatovenerology, Nina Papis, says that homeless people are hospitalized 24/24 hours. They are provided free consultations from the part of all the experts of the institution and, depending on the health status opf each of them, they receive the necessary treatment. They can stay in the hospital from several days to 1,5 months.
The same source asserts that most of them are over 50 years old and are addicted to alcohol. Some of them have families, but they refuse to take care of them or accept them in their house.
The director of the „Emergency” from Balti, Liviu Bogdan, mentioned in this context that the decision of the Health Care Department of Balti Mayoralty regarding the placement of homeless people in an institution in the cold period of the year is fair and necessary. // DECA-Press
