First cases of influenza among minors registered in Chisinau
The first three cases of influenza among minors were registered in Chisinau, sources from the Municipal Centre of Preventive Medicine (CMP) have said.
Late last week, they found the first patients with influenza in the cold season 2008, Aerogene Infestations Section Head within CMP Zinaida Coroi has said to BASA-press. “The three ill pupils, aged between ten and 13, study in Chisinau. They have light symptoms of the virus and do not require being hospitalized”, Coroi said.
“If in 2007, the first cases of influenza were registered in February, then in 2008, it came earlier, following the warm weather and the epidemics from Bulgaria and Romania”, according to the quoted source.
The municipal laboratory and the raional hospitals are ready to assist the patients, Scientific Researcher within Laboratory of Virusology CMP Damian Ciobanu has said, contacted by BASA-press.
To reduce the danger of catching the flu virus, the doctors recommend the people with reduced immunity to avoid overcrowded public spaces and eat many vitamins. // BASA-Press
