Families affected by last week rain will receive assistance
The Government will offer building materials in aid to the families that were affected by the May 22-25 heavy rain.
Under the Government’s decision, 282 roof slates and pieces of glass will be allocated for repairing 20 houses in Valea-Trestieni village in Nisporeni district and 55 slates and lumber for repairing the roof of the secondary school in Sturzeni village in Rascani district.
Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi instructed officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry to take measures and make sure that the insurance companies pay damages for the insured areas.
According to the Interior Ministry’s Department for Emergencies, 26 settlements in 15 districts were affected by the last week rain that was accompanied by strong wind and hail. One person was killed and 27 houses and about 4 kilometers of road were damaged. About 3,500 hectares of agricultural land were flooded.
The damage was estimated at 4.3 million lei.
