Explosion prevented in Bender amid Shevchuk’s visit in the region
An explosion has been averted in Bender, city located in the separatist region of Transnistria, 70 km South-East from Moldova’s capital of Chisinau. The KGB officials have discovered 400 grams of trotyl.
According to KGB’s press service, the explosive was found around 8 AM (local time) in a tree, 40 meters away from Triumphal Arch in Bender during an investigation of the districts where some public events were about to take place marking 20 years since the beginning of the military actions in Bender.
The news agencies say the explosive was left on the road where Evgeny Shevchuk’s entourage was due to go by. Evgeny Shevchuk is the so-called president of the separatist region on Transnistria, a breakaway enclave of Moldova.
