EU continues backing Moldovan authorities' efforts to alleviate floods' impact
Prime Minister Vlad Filat today met the head of the European Commission's Delegation in Moldova, Ambassador Dirk Schuebel, the government's communications and press relations department has said.
The officials discussed assistance offered by international partners to alleviate the consequences of floods.
Dirk Schuebel confirmed that the European Commission will give assistance to help the flood victims. The official said that experts presently consider the situation created in Moldova and are to identify additional assistance needs.
Dirk Schuebel gave assurances that the European Union will continue backing the Moldovan authorities' efforts to mitigate the floods' impact.
"I want to assure you that you will not be alone on this complicated period," Dirk Schuebel said.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked the EUfor the support given Moldova. He said that the government will take all the necessary measures to distribute the provided assistance transparently and efficiently.
