Escape from Stress and Frost

By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau / Moldova.ORG/ -- The coldness overflowed the capital and the whole country. However, you can find not so far locations, where the sun is much more generous than here.

Today I want to introduce you the most beautiful islands of Europe, especially because you can go there during this period that is an extra-season, at lowest costs.

Let start with the sunniest island of the Europe, how is considered Rhodes Island. It is one of the most beautiful and biggest islands of the Greek archipelago. Rhodes City is the largest from this island and it is an architectural combination of old and new, nautical sports and night life from Faliraki.

The island is plenty of delightful and interesting places that deserve to be visited, such as Valley of Butterflies, village Triad, near the ancient Lalissos, on the peak Filerimos, where in the XV century there was founded a monastery with the same name, the ruins of Temples of Athena and Zeus, Kamiros and ruins of the city Dorian, Kalitheia with spa-resorts, Koskinou, Afandou, Faliraki and Rodini.

The second in the top is an island visited yearly by over a million visitors – Capri Island. From the countless artistic monuments that last for centuries to the ancient world wonders, passing through the spectacular landscapes, hospitable beaches and, obviously, the famous in the whole world Mediterranean cuisine, this zone from Campania zone is an important destination for traveling.

Capri is explored on foot, the countless footpaths giving you the chance to observe leisurely the stunning views of this island, the ruins of Roman chiefs’ villas and spectacular natural formations, avoiding the large groups of tourists.

For the third island, we’ll return back to Greece and go on Santorini, the island of snowy white houses with blue roofs. Detached in time from a volcano, it offers mountain and sea landscapes of white and blue views, Orthodox churches and lots traditions. The island’s capital, Fira, is situated in a volcanic wall, on a cliff with a height of 300 m. It is the island with beaches of different colors, due to the sands of volcanic origin, which shades in black, red and white.

The fourth destination is the island Sardinia, an island from Mediterranean Sea, situated between Italy, France and Tunis. It is said that here you can find the beaches with the most transparent and clear water in the world. “Sardegna” is preferred by the tourists from whole world not only because of the natural beauties, but also for its historical “cargo” kept by the island. Sardinia has wonderful sand beaches and a few kilometers from luxury resorts there are located dreamy beaches, wild and isolated, or beaches well-appointed with all you need.

After splendid Greek and Italian islands follows a Spanish island, no less spectacular than its neighbors, Palma de Mallorca. Located at 2 km from Barcelona and at 145 km from Valencia, Mallorca has a coastline of 500 km. The island is a veritable Paradise, the north side being steeper and the southern offering plantations of olive and almond trees, crossed by wind mills.

The golden sands of the island are famous, and the beaches are preferred by a lot of tourists. Considered a part of a strategic territory in military terms, Mallorca has experienced the siege of Greek, Romans and Muslims, but also has strong Anglo-Saxon influences, so that the historical and architectonic monuments appear at every corner.

Whatever will be the chosen island, you surely will like it, because these islands are some of the most representative for the European and worldwide tourism.
