EMINESCU’S WORKS TRANSLATED IN GAGAUZ
Two of Mihai Eminescu’s most famous works, namely, his poems “Luceaferul” and “Fat Frumos din Lacrima” have been translated in the Gagauz language for the first time and published in a separate book.
The author of this translation, who is Ambassador Feodor Angheli, told Infotag that the book is assigned for Gagauz children, who are waiting for this book with impatience.
He said that the number of copies is 2000 and it was published with financial support on the part of the Moldovan government. President of the Moldova Academy of Sciences, Academician Gheorghe Duca pronounced a greeting introductory speech at the presentation of this book.
Feodor Angheli recalled that a year ago works by famous Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin were translated in Gagauz and he is currently working at the translation of famous Moldovan poet Grigore Vieru’s works.
He asserts that it is very important for Gagauz children to make acquaintance with works by great poets in these children’s native language.
