Emergency landing in Bucharest after attack on flight attendant
An airplane on route from Frankfurt to Ankara made an emergency landing on Otopeni International Airport in Bucharest. The pilot decided to land after two passengers have assaulted the flight attendant. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 belongs to Sun Express airline and landed in Bucharest around 6:40 PM (local time).
“Those two violent passengers have been detained by police, while the flight attendant was brought to the medical office of the airport,” Valentin Iordache, the airport’s spokesperson told Digi24 newsroom.
According to him, the steward did not suffer any serious injuries and returned on board. He also said the assaulters might have been Turks.
Some 150 passengers were aboard. They are waiting now for information about the time when the plain is about to take off.
