The Dniester Communist Party in Moldova's breakaway Dniester region (a.k.a. Transnistria) has called on citizens on both banks of the Dniester River to cast their ballots for the Moldovan Communist Party at the 29 July early parliamentary election.

"The Communist Party is the only political force which would not allow Moldova to be thrown into national chaos, will prevent a repetition of events of the 1990s, and will not start new bloodshed along the Dniester River," the Dniester Communist Party said in a statement.

"On 7 April, political forces seeking to deprive the Moldovan people of their historical memory, language, culture and history first organized disturbances and pogroms in Chisinau and later did their utmost to prevent the new parliament from electing the president of the country," the Dniester party said.

"These anti-national forces are again striving to take the power. But their real goal is obvious: to return Moldova to th! e 1990s chaos and to use political instability to achieve personal enrichment," the Dniester Communists believe. "Peace and stability in the region and prosperity of people on both banks of the Dniester River depend on the composition of Moldova's future parliament."
