Due to swine flu five education institutions are closed in Moldova

Five pre-university and university institutions of Chisinau did not resume their didactic activity on the reason that more pandemic flu cases were registered in these institutions.

According to the Ministry of Education, Technical University of Moldova, which registered 12 pandemic flu cases, “Mihai Eminescu” Lyceum - 15 cases, College of Informatics - 17 cases will not have classes until 22 November. At the same time, the didactical process will be resumed in the College of Ecology of Chisinau and the Republican Boarding Lyceum with Sportive Profile from November 18.

Directors of lyceums, schools, colleges and universities will decide, separately, how to recover classes missed because of the prolonged autumn holiday, according to the curriculum of each education institution. The solutions may be the following: to extend with one day the week of studies, to extend the daily program of studies with one hour or to recover missed classes from the account of winter holidays.

According to Republican Extraordinary Anti-epidemic Commission, the pupils and students returned to classes after a prolonged holiday from November 16, as many cases of A(N1H1) flu cases were registered. Following the start of education process, the first class will be dedicated to pandemic flu in all country institutions. During this class, teachers will inform pupils and students about the epidemical situation in the country and the methods of prevention.
