Construction of houses for Moldovan flood victims to start this week
The construction of 700 houses for flood victims will start this week, Prime Minister Vlad Filat has told a news conference.
Filat specified that the money necessary for the construction works had already been gathered. He noted that design works were being held on an around-the-clock-basis and people would get new houses in due time before the beginning of the cold season.
The prime minister said that the worst-hit village of Cotul Morii would be displaced near the village of Leuseni and houses from victims from Nemteni would be constructed in the upper zone of the same settlement.
Construction and Regional Development Minister Marcel Raducan has previously said that the flood victims should be provided with at least three rooms till the end of November.
By a government decision, the economic agents who will build up dwellings for flood victims will benefit from fiscal privileges.
Costs for the building of new houses and infrastructure in Nemteni, Obileni and Sarateni, Hincesti district, are estimated at 400 million lei (about 24.5 million euros).
