CIS migration bodies finalize draft convention on migrant’s legal status
The Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) finalized the draft convention on the legal status of the economic migrants and their families in Minsk on May 16.
According to the press service of the Executive Committee of the CIS, the formulation of the project started in 2000. The convention guarantees practically the same rights for the migrants working temporarily in the CIS. The document protects their labor rights and regulates aspects of education and medical assistance.
The work on the convention will continue at the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Migration Bodies. Afterward, it will be sent to the Council of CIS Heads of Government for examin// Reporter.MD
